Reason For Inclosing
The Land was incapable of any considerable improvement, therefore It was advantageous to interested persons if the land were divided and inclosed but this could not have been done without the authority of Parliament.

Methods For Conducting Business.
Notice of Meeting
To be given in the Derby Newspapers and in church on Sunday after the service 10 days before the meeting takes place. (meetings by adjournment only excepted).
Oaths
Oaths were taken by the Commissioners before each meeting, At the first meeting the Surveyor also took an Oath. These oaths were enrolled with the Award.
Conclusion To The Activities of The Commissioners and Surveyor
Robert Smedley completed the survey.
The Commissioners have found that the land has been inclosed containing 860 acres 4 perches exclusive of public or private roads and paths.
They also found that the people listed in the Award were the owners.
The Commissioners divided the land having had due regard to the quality and quantity of the open fields and ancient inclosed lands.
These were exonerated from Tythe and the owners were then intitled to right of common exchange.
Due regard was given to all roads and paths and provided places for excavating gravel for repairing them.
After completing their task the Commissioners have signed and sealed the Award.

Nottingham Turnpike (Nottingham Road)
- Begins in Chaddesden at Chaddesden Baulk.
- Towards Spondon (east) over Derby Field until level with allotment 97.
- Follows the route of an ancient lane through Borrowash towards Nottingham
Breadth-60 feet.
White Legs Lane Road (Dale Road)
- Begins near Spondon village at Brag Lane Gate.
- North-east over Spondon Moor until level with allotment 42.
- North until level with allotment 33 where Ockbrooke Lane branches towards Ockbrook.
- North towards White Legs Lane in Dale Abbey.
Breadth-40 feet.
Stanley Highway (Locko Road)
- Begins at a junction with Town Street in Spondon between two ancient inclosures, belonging to Richard. Astley Sales (eastern side) and Ann Parkyns with Fransis Fransis Byron (western side).
- North until it joins an ancient lane called Locko Lane.
Breadth-40 feet.
Bridle Roads

- Begins at an ancient gate called Stubbings Close Gate in Locko.
- Along the northern edges of allotment 24, 23, 20 and 19 towards White Legs Lane Road.
B
- Begins on White Legs Road at the western corner of allotment 43.
- South-east over allotment 43 towards the ancient inclosures called Lane Close (part of Burrows Wood Farm).
- Both towards Ockbrook and Borrowash.

Spondon to Chaddesden A
- Begins on Stanley Highway at the north-eastern corner of an ancient inclosure belonging to Henry Meakin and William Meakin.
- North-west over allotments 3 and 2 towards an ancient stile at the eastern end of an ancient inclosure called Goodedge Close.
- Joins the previous footway to Chaddesden.
Spondon to Chaddesden B
- Begins on New Close Road at the southern corner of allotment 180.
- Through allotment 180 to the north-west corner of allotment 178.
- Crosses Royal Hill Road.
- Along an ancient lane called Nynion Lane along the western edge of allotment. 172.
- Crosses Long Ley Road
- Along Brook Lane and through the ancient inclosures belonging to Francis Ballidon Wilmot, Trustees of Breadsal Poor, William Wood and Ann Parkyns/ Francis Byron; to the western corner of allotment 3.

- North along the eastern edge of allotment 200 to the western corner of an ancient inclosure called Bows Close.
- North-east through Bows Close, allotment 15, two ancient inclosures belonging to Samuel Richardson and allotments 27 and 26 to White Legs Lane Road.
Moor End Cottages to Locko
- Begins at the southern corner of allotment 200 following the last described footway for 200 yards.
- North-west over allotments 200 and 199.
- Crosses Wet Furrow Road.
- North over allotments 201,7,6 and 4; an ancient inclosure called Ley Close to an ancient lane called Locko Lane.
Spondon to Ockbrook and Borrowash A
- Begins on Spondon Town Street at the north-western end of an ancient Homestead or Croft belonging to Thomas Birch.
- East over this croft and an ancient inclosure called Horse Croft to Gravel Road.
- South along Gravel Road to an ancient stile entering an ancient inclosure called Hill Close.
- East over Hill Close and an ancient inclosure called Kirk Leys.
- Crosses Brag Lane Road at the western corner of allotment 77.
- Over allotment 77 and two ancient inclosures called Nether Cow Close and Great Asterdale towards Ockbrook and Borrowash.
Spondon to Ockbrook and Borrowash B
- Begins on Spondon Town Street at the western edge of an ancient inclosure called Coopers Croft.
- East over Coopers Croft, Hill Close and Little Gravel Pit Close.
- Along the northern edge of allotment 93 into the last described footway.

- Begins at a stile in the fence of Little Gravel Pit Close.
- South along the western edge of allotments 93 and 97.

- West by the side of this wall over an ancient inclosure called Tythe Barn Yard and Homestead belonging to Ann Parkyns and Francis Byron.
- West over the northern edges of allotments 115 and 116.
- South along the eastern edge of allotment 117 to Nottingham Turnpike Road.

- Begins on Spondon Town Street at the north-western corner of the Tythe Barn Yard.
- West over the northern edge of the Tythe Barn Yard to an angle in the Churchyard wall marked in the plan.
- Along the southern edge of the Churchyard.
- Joins the previously described footway.

- Begins on Derby Field at Derby Field Gate (near Spondon).
- West over allotments 117 and 129 to the north-eastern corner of allotment 136.

- Begins out of the last described footway at the northern corner of allotment 136.

- Begins at the eastern end of New Close Road,
